It has already been one week since Modesto City Schools officially opened its doors for the 2026–2027 school year, welcoming back students, families, teachers, and administrators. Across the district, campuses were filled with enthusiasm, smiles, and the undeniable energy of a fresh start.
Throughout the opening week, students jumped straight into learning, participating in classroom activities, reconnecting with friends, and diving into dynamic campus programs. School leaders and staff were on hand to greet returning families, ensure smooth transitions, and set a joyful, focused tone for the months ahead.
First-Day Smiles & Big Hopes
To capture the excitement, the district put together a special First Day Recap video highlighting the enthusiasm felt across all grade levels. In the recap, local teachers, school administrators, and students shared their personal goals and hopes for the new academic year.
Common themes echoed across campuses included fostering strong classroom communities, encouraging student growth, expanding involvement in school clubs and athletics, and keeping the positive momentum going strong every single day.
Whether it is kindergarteners stepping onto campus for the first time or high school seniors preparing for their final year, the entire Modesto City Schools community is geared up for an inspiring and success-filled 2026–2027 school year.
